10,000 Reasons

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to read Ann Voskamp‘s One Thousand Gifts.

On Sunday, we sang 10,000 Reasons {by Matt Redman}, and on Wednesday our pastor (and co-small group leader with my husband) brought a CD with that song on it and had us listen again. And if that wasn’t enough, he then forgot to bring the CD home… leaving it here… and so I listened again. And I think, maybe, God is telling me something. One Thousand Gifts, 10,000 Reasons … yeah.

I started a notebook to begin to see things different, but I think it is time to start making a list.

1. a wonderful husband who lovingly encourages me, even in my crazy…

2. a snuggle-bug boy who has been even more snuggly than usual lately…

3. homemade bread, that turns out even though I ran out of flour and couldn’t follow the recipe exactly…

4. homemade sweat tea…

5. freedom found in grace…

10,000 Reasons – Matt Redman

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

Jesus, I’ll worship Your holy name
Lord, I’ll worship Your holy name

Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I’ll worship Your holy name
I’ll worship Your holy name
